Centrifugal Dash Earrings
Tanya Crane
Black enamel on 1.75" copper discs with hand-drawn sgraffito relief work, with surgical steel post and sterling silver catch. Surprisingly lightweight and a bold statement. Please note that enamel is glass, so be gentle when setting them down on porcelain or metal surfaces.
About the artist
Tanya Crane's artwork dwells within a liminal existence between prejudice and privilege. Reared in a white middle class suburb of Los Angeles, Crane’s experience with blackness was limited to visiting her father in South Central Los Angeles. Her dual existence has deeply informed her practice. She is currently a Professor of the Practice in Metals at the School Museum of Fine Arts at Tufts.
